Fabulous Las Vegas – Golf in Nevada – State #5
Mr and Mrs Golf Play Golf in Nevada – State 5 of 50: A Day Trip to Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas.
For our fifth state in our journey to play golf in all 50 states, we set our sights on Nevada. With limited time but a strong desire to make the most of it, we planned a whirlwind day trip to Las Vegas, where we’d play a round at the renowned Angel Park Golf Club. Known as the “World’s Most Complete Golf Experience,” Angel Park was the perfect spot for our one-day adventure.
Flying in early that morning, the excitement was palpable. Traveling together, even for a quick trip, never fails to remind us why Quality Time is so important to our relationship. As we descended into Las Vegas, the desert landscape stretched out below us, a beautiful contrast to the green fairways we were about to explore.
After grabbing a quick coffee, we made our way to Angel Park Golf Club. We didn’t even need a rental car—the course was close enough to the airport! A big shout-out to Jed for inviting us out to play and making this experience even more memorable. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by warm sunshine, a light desert breeze, and stunning views of the Red Rock Canyon in the distance. It was the perfect backdrop for a round of golf and a day spent doing what we love most—being together on the course.
Angel Park boasts two championship courses designed by Arnold Palmer, as well as a par-3 course and an impressive putting course. We chose the Mountain Course, known for its challenging layout and breathtaking views. With a tee time set to take advantage of the morning calm, we checked in, hit a few warm-up shots on the driving range, and rolled some putts on the practice green.
From the first tee, the Mountain Course delivered. Elevation changes, strategic bunkering, and fast greens kept us on our toes, but what stood out most was how every hole seemed to offer a postcard-worthy view. Playing golf in the desert is a unique experience—the vibrant green fairways are framed by rugged terrain and distant mountains, creating a serene yet exhilarating atmosphere.
The 17th Hole is always special for us because of that date but one of our favorite holes was the par-3 14th. Elevated tee boxes provided panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, and while the shot itself wasn’t long, the swirling desert wind added an extra layer of challenge. We both took a moment at the tee to soak in the scenery before swinging away—these are the little moments that make our golf adventures so special.
We played at a relaxed pace, sharing laughs, encouraging each other’s shots, and enjoying the peacefulness that comes with being outdoors together. There’s something about golf that fosters connection—not just through the game itself, but through the time spent walking the fairways, discussing strategy, and celebrating (or playfully teasing) each other’s shots.
After finishing our round, we grabbed lunch at the club’s restaurant, where we sat on the patio overlooking the course. With the sun high in the sky and the vibrant desert colors all around us, we reflected on the day. It’s easy to get caught up in daily routines, but trips like this remind us why we started Mr. & Mrs. Golf in the first place: to encourage couples to spend meaningful time together. Golf is our avenue for that connection, and Nevada’s Angel Park Golf Club provided the perfect stage for another unforgettable experience.
Though our time in Las Vegas was brief, we couldn’t resist a quick drive down the Strip before heading back to the airport. The contrast between the bustling city lights and the tranquility of the golf course was striking, highlighting the diversity of experiences Nevada has to offer. But for us, the highlight was clear—the memories made on the course were what truly mattered.
As we boarded our return flight, tired but happy, we talked about the day’s highlights and the states still ahead of us. This journey to play golf in all 50 states isn’t just about the game; it’s about strengthening our bond, creating lasting memories, and inspiring other couples to do the same.
Nevada marked the fifth state on our adventure, and it reminded us that even a one-day trip can be filled with laughter, connection, and the joy of doing something you love with the person you love. On to the next state and the next round of memories with Mr. & Mrs. Golf!
