Mr. & Mrs. Golf’s Texas Golf Adventure: Our 7th State Together
As avid golfers and travel enthusiasts, we’ve embarked on a journey to play golf in every state together. Our trip to Texas marked our 7th state playing golf together, and it was a great trip and destination. Texas golf offers a rich golfing heritage, diverse courses, and a warm Southern hospitality that made our experience unforgettable. Here’s a recap of our golfing adventure in the Lone Star State.
🏌️‍♀️ Stonebriar Country Club – Frisco, TX
Our first stop was the prestigious Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco. This private club boasts two championship courses: the Country Club Course and the Fazio Course. Both courses are meticulously maintained and offer a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.
The Country Club Course features traditional design elements with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The Fazio Course, designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio, is known for its innovative layout and stunning natural beauty. Playing here was a true testament to the craftsmanship of course design.
After our round, we enjoyed the club’s excellent amenities, including a well-stocked pro shop and a comfortable clubhouse. The staff’s hospitality made us feel right at home, and we left with a sense of accomplishment and a desire to return.

⛳ Tour 18 Dallas – Flower Mound, TX
Next, we headed to Tour 18 Dallas, a unique course that replicates 18 of the most famous holes in American golf. From the iconic island green of the 17th at TPC Sawgrass to the challenging par-3 12th at Augusta National, each hole offers a new challenge and a chance to relive some of golf’s most memorable moments.
Playing the 17th hole is always special for us. It’s a replica of the legendary 12th hole at Augusta National, one of the most famous par-3s in golf history. With its towering pines, water hazard, and deep bunkers, this hole captures the spirit of Augusta while offering a fun and challenging test for our skills. The thrill of stepping up to the tee, knowing you’re about to play a version of such an iconic hole, never gets old.
A Taste of Augusta at the Turn
As if the course itself wasn’t enough, Tour 18 adds another layer of charm with its concessions. At the turn, we received a ticket for complimentary food, featuring items inspired by Augusta National. Naturally, we indulged in the Classic Transfusion cocktail and a delicious pork barbecue sandwich. It was the perfect way to refuel and savor the experience.
The course is beautifully designed, with lush fairways and strategically placed hazards that test every aspect of our game. The staff at Tour 18 Dallas were friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for an enjoyable round.

🏌️‍♂️ The Swing at PGA Frisco – Frisco, TX
Our final stop was The Swing at PGA Frisco, a 10-hole, par-3 course that offers a fun and relaxed golfing experience. Designed by Gil Hanse and Beau Welling, The Swing is part of the Omni PGA Frisco Resort and is open to the public.
The course is beautifully lit, allowing for play well into the evening. The holes range from 45 to 100 yards, making it ideal for practicing short game skills. The atmosphere is lively, with music playing and a margarita bar nearby, creating a festive environment for golfers of all ages.
After our round, we explored the resort’s other amenities, including The Dance Floor, a two-acre putting course, and the Ice House, a restaurant with hitting bays overlooking the Toptracer driving range. The entire experience at PGA Frisco was top-notch, and we left eager to return.
