Couples Golf Weekend — Arizona
We planned this weekend because we wanted a golf trip we’d actually want to go on — a great course, a small group, two formats that are fun no matter your handicap, and a private dinner Saturday night with everyone. This is that trip.

Tubac sits at 3,200 feet — about 2,100 feet higher than Phoenix. The thinner air means your ball carries roughly 3% farther, or 5-8 yards on a driver. Club down on approach shots. That 160-yard approach plays more like 155.
Saturday’s 7am start and Sunday’s 9am start are designed to get you off the course before peak afternoon heat. You’ll finish Round 1 by noon — pool time, not heat exhaustion.
Late August is Arizona’s monsoon season. Afternoon storms roll in fast, are usually brief, and are genuinely spectacular to watch from the 19th hole. Morning rounds are almost always clear. See our weather policy in the FAQ.
At elevation and before 10am, Tubac mornings in August are actually pleasant — mid-70s at tee time, low humidity compared to the peak of summer. Bring sunscreen. Drink water. You know the drill.
Couples Golf Weekend FAQ
Everything you need to know about the Tubac Stay & Play before you register.Saturday is a couples scramble — you both tee off on every hole, pick the best shot, and play from there. It’s the most relaxed format in golf, great for any skill level. Sunday is 2-person best ball: each player hits their own ball and you record the better score on each hole. Gross and net winners awarded. Same formats we use at our Sedona Sunrise event.
This is a couples golf event designed for two players traveling and staying together. Married, dating, or longtime playing partners — all welcome. Solo registrations are not available.
Yes. The package includes 2 nights on property at Tubac Golf Resort. This is a stay-and-play weekend and the Saturday dinner and Friday Social Hour are built around the shared experience of being at the resort together.
An optional 18-hole round on Friday, August 28th. Book directly with Tubac Golf Resort — it’s not part of the event package. A great way to preview the course before Saturday’s round.
